"Divide and conquer" was our plan heading back on a brief home assignment this summer. Ken arrived in California and visited partners there an in Arizona, covering more than 2,000 in his rental car. Keli and the kids arrived in Alabama, and visited churches there, and were reunited with Ken In Oklahoma City at the COG conference.
Our past has birthed a present that none of us could have fully imagined back in 2003. One special song in our worship experience during those years was "God of Justice" by Tim Hughes, which includes in the 2nd verse the elements of Micah 6:8.
Prayer Requests & Praises
✴ Praise for safety in all our travels, and the favor experienced in each church visit; please continue to pray for our safety in the weeks ahead until we return to Egypt on August 11.
✴ Praise for visits with friends and family whom we have missed; pray for us all as we now enter into a time of saying “goodbye” again.
✴ Pray for peace and stability in both Egypt and Lebanon (as well as Syria and Iraq); difficult days lie ahead in each of these nations. Several anniversary dates to last year’s government turnover in Egypt are expected to see demonstrations that could lead to violence.
✴ Praise for the favorable verdict for Sudanese Christian Miriam Ibrahim whose case of religious freedom has huge implications for the region.
✴ Pray for our teammates: the Nachtigall family move from Berlin back to the USA for the next year; the Langford’s are finalizing their fundraising with a hopeful launch this fall; and the Weiger family are just beginning the fund-raising journey.
