Spring Break to Mexico 2016 - 1

4am-6pm. A long day of travel but full of wonderful moments seeing God show up and show off. Leaving church at 4AM was early this morning and with the sad news of Maddie (my mighty right hand) not being able to make it, we all were a little more somber than normal. Though right away God was reminding me that He is still in control. After dropping the team off at the airport curb and heading to long term economy parking, pulling out in front of me was the shuttle to the red lot (long term parking) and like a bright light flashing in my face there was God saying I'm leading this adventure so keep your eyes on me. A much needed confirmation that brought the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Traveling south was uneventful even with the crazy detours in Tijuana and we arrived at Welcome Home Outreach just in time for dinner. Following our welcome and orientation the baseball field across the street began a fireworks show to celebrate opening night of the season. We walk outside to incredible colors and loud  booms as if we were being welcomed and God was rejoicing with us.

These may seem like small and insignificant moments but not when we are being challenged to look for God in all moments. Times when God is trying to get our attention, to remind us who He is and whose we are. We ask ourselves, "what is God saying?" and "what am I going to do about it?" and these questions force us to wrestle with bigger questions like what is my purpose while I'm here? What is God calling me to?

As we wrestle with these questions and look for God in all things this week we ask for prayer from our prayer warriors. Prayer for health (as one or more of our team battles illness), for strength to accomplish the tasks set before us and to celebrate God at work in the here and now.
