The photo is of a group of middle school and
high school kids from the COG in Korea. Because the
month of January is so cold there, schools take a monthlong
winter break. Our churches wanted to use two
weeks of the break to put on an English camp for their
youth and the community. They asked us for help to
provide native English speakers as teachers.
Dan and Peggy Dougherty of the Cloverdale Church in
Boise, Idaho, answered the call and found themselves in
front of 18 teenagers teaching English. In addition, we
recruited Steven Beverly,
fellow COG missionary to Sri Lanka, to come and teach. By the end of the
second week, the kids were comfortable with us, to the point of doing
numerous Snapchat pictures of the teachers.
