CCCOG to Mexico Day 2 - 2017

Three in one evening!  Here we go:

We had an early start to our second day! It proved to be a very productive. We were able to see all the kids come in to Welcome Home and we ate breakfast with them! They were so happy and all said buenos Dias and were all for the high fives!

Our whole team headed to Eternal Anchor and got to be part of the kids circle time which included singing and the kids acting out a bible story. Many of the returners from last year were so excited because the house that the team built last year was for a family who's little boy, Sebastian, was at Eternal Anchor! Laurie Grimes shared a story how her son last year wanted to save clothes for Sebastian and hopefully get them to him so when Laurie walked in and saw him dressed up as King David for their bible story standing in front of all of us she was so thrilled!

From Eternal Anchor we branched out into our different teams. Some stayed with Eternal Anchor to help out with the kids. Others of us went to their construction sight. Plus we had our medical team helping kids and VBS later in the afternoon.

The construction team gets to work on what will be the new Eternal Anchor orphanage and school since they are needing to move out of the their current location by mid July. The sight already looks beautiful! Today our team helped mainly with painting. Some of the guys filled their new playground with sand and did some stucco work. While we were out there working there was a big group of guys helping out too and it was just so fun to listen to them laughing almost the whole time they were working. That kind of joy shows their work being in the name of God. The medical team was able to do some routine check ups on the kids and diagnose those who needed additional medical attention. From the VBS team we heard that the puppets were a success! They gave their first show and although there was some hiccups and the media stopped playing at a time, they made it through and the kids were a laughing and smiling so it counts as a win!

We were able to debrief in the evening with a devotional from Craig and sharing our God sightings for the day. It was amazing to hear all that God was showing to our team just in one day. As Mary Burton said, God has been present on every second of this trip and that is evident in all the team shared. Praise God for our continued safety and ability to work and serve him. He has blessed us for this work and show us incredible things! Our hope is to keep our eyes open and our hearts willing to follow God's calling throughout the week!
