Netherlands: the Kihms

Who: Daniel & Christy Kihm ... kids ...Sophie
Where: Brunssum, Netherlands
Background: 7 years head pastor in Maple Grove, IN
With: 3 Worlds - Engaging youth in cross-cultural missions, supporting leaders & connecting local churches

In November of 2013 Dan and Christy arrived in Holland to begin their time of ministry in an among the Dutch church.  While settling into life as new parents and making connections in their new hometown, they hosted a German bible school student this past month.  Dan attended a different meeting for Dutch and Western German pastors, and "bravely watched Sophie" while Christy flew to the women's conference.  Christy traveled to Italy to help host the first 3 Worlds Women's Conference about which she states,
"For me personally, my biggest takeaway was the realization that after 4 months in The Netherlands,
God has been and is stripping down who I am, to the core. Everything that was familiar has been
removed from our lives, and while that is painful and terrifying (to not have a comfort zone), oddly
enough there is a weird sense of expectancy in my heart that God will make me into someone that he
can use more powerfully that I ever expected for myself. Through vulnerability, we can allow
others to speak into our lives, at the perfect moments. And God can use us more authentically when
we give him that vulnerable self."
